2019 was spent reminiscing - musically - about the first landing on the Moon in 1969. Inspired by this connection between space and music, which we performed in amazing planetariums and museums, we have thought about a new astronomically inspired programme: Beautiful Star. Have you ever stood in the mountains, no city lights around, looking up, seeing all these stars above you? It’s very impressive and may be that has made many generations before us turning to the stars for company, support or guidance. Every year at Christmas we just take the Star of Bethlehem for granted; it’s been there for as long as we can think of celebrating Christmas. It has led the three wise men to the birthplace of Jesus. Astronomically speaking it has caused quite a lot of controversy amongst historians and scientists – so we thought we just tell its story through music.
